Police officials in Kent County will be increasing their DUI patrols over the St. Patrick's Day holiday in order to prevent people from drinking and driving.
Between March 8 and March 19, there will be additional law enforcement patrols on the road in order to arrest those who are driving under the influence. Last year during this period of time there were 310 DUI arrests made in the county.
Local law enforcements agencies that are participating include: Seattle, Kent, Redmond, Renton, Kirkland, Mercer Valley, Black Diamond, Clyde Hill, and Seatac. In the state of Washington, impaired driving is the most common contributing factor in fatal crashes.
