Drunk driving statistics down

Posted by Unknown | Mar 12, 2014 | 0 Comments

According to research by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, drunk driving is down nearly 30% from its highest peak in 2006. 2010 revealed to have the lowest percentage of drunk drivers since 1993, when the CDC began gathering statistics.

The research shows that an estimated 4 million people have driven drunk at least once, and has resulted in nearly 112 million drinking-related car accidents. Experts suggest that drunk driving is on the decline due to recent economic hardships; people are more likely to not go out or drink at home instead.

Statistics gathered from survey cold calls reveal that 81% of drunk drivers are men, 32% of which were men between the ages of 21-34 years old.
