The driver that struck a 50 year-old man has been arrested on allegations that was drunk when the collision occurred. The accident happened last weekend in Chicago just after one in the morning. Deciding to go to another bar, the 45 year-old driver and a friend left a club where they had been drinking.
Just before they reached Millennium Park, a pedestrian was crossing the road. The impact crushed the driver's hood and broke the windshield. Emergency responders rushed the man to the hospital, but he died just ten minutes after the collision. Now prosecutors are charging the driver with aggravated DUI. Two hours after the crash the man's blood alcohol level was tested at 0.081, just over the legal limit.
