Driver could face felony charges

Posted by Unknown | Mar 12, 2014 | 0 Comments

A 42 year-old man could face more than three years in jail on drunk driving charges. In the state of Washington, five DUIs within a ten-year period could lead to felony charges. His records show that he has had four DUI convictions since 2002. The Sedro-Woolley man got his fifth drunk driving conviction last month in Island County.

He plead not guilty in court to drunk driving and obstructing a police officer. Law enforcement pulled him over after seeing his van speeding on Highway 525. An officer clocked him going 70 in a 55mph zone. The man failed field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol level of  0.119, a little more than double the legal limit.
