Police will step up patrol for Seafair weekend

Posted by Unknown | Mar 12, 2014 | 0 Comments

Friday through Sunday of Seafair week, law enforcement will heavily patrol the waterways for intoxicated boaters. Last year, 59 individuals were convicted of operating a boat while drunk, and 54 were arrested for drunk driving on King County roads.

On the water, boaters can expect to see a Mobile Impaired Driving Unit which has three breathalyzers and two holding cells. Officers will also construct a temporary detention facility to hold people suspected of driving a boat while intoxicated and under aged drinking, among others. Many local and state agencies will be at Puget Sound such as the State Patrol, Mercer Island Police & Marine Patrol, Washington Department of Fisheries and Wildlife, Seattle Police & Harbor Patrol, King County Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol and the Coast Guard.

If you or someone you love has been charged with BUI, contact the Seattle boating under the influence lawyers of Cowan Kirk Gaston Law Firm at 866-822-1230.
