The additional law enforcement was on the roads during the time period of Nov. 25 to Jan. 2 and during this time 876 people were arrested for a DUI on King County. Statewide, there were 3,577 people arrested. The extra patrol was put into place after impaired drivers killed  491 people in Washington in 2009.
