The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 101 when a 27-year-old man was heading southbound down Highway 101 and his pickup truck left the roadway for unknown reasons just before midnight. After leaving the roadway the truck clipped a light pole and finally came to a rest after landing in a ditch.
