Washington State Patrol arrested a man after a pickup truck accident in Jefferson County. The driver was charged with driving under the influence as a result of the accident.

The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 101 when a 27-year-old man was heading southbound down Highway 101 and his pickup truck left the roadway for unknown reasons just before midnight. After leaving the roadway the truck clipped a light pole and finally came to a rest after landing in a ditch.

The 26-year-old passenger in the truck suffered a head injury and was transported to the hospital where he was later treated and released.  The accident caused about 300 gallons of a hydroseed chemical to be spilled along with fuel. The Department of Ecology personnel that responded to the incident said that it did not pose a threat.
