SEATTLE MUNICIPAL COURT

No municipal court in this state handles more DUI related cases than Seattle Municipal Court.  The courthouse is located at 600 5th Ave., Seattle, WA  98104.  The courthouse is on the corner of 5th and James, directly across the street from the King County Jail.  Due to the large volume of cases that SMC handles, the lawyers at Cowan Kirk Kattenhorn have literally handled hundreds of Seattle Municipal cases.  There is a parking garage on the east side of Seattle Municipal, accessible on 6th Avenue, James Street and Cherry Street.  Many of the parking spaces are reserved for City vehicles so you must arrive early if you want to park in the City garage.  All criminal matters are held on the 9th, 10th or 11th floors.

The current judicial assignments for Seattle Municipal Court are:

Judge C. Kimi Kondo         Court 1001     Current Presiding Judge

Judge Damon Shadid        Court 902

Judge Ed McKenna           Court 1103

Judge Karen Donahue      Court 1003

Judge Steve Rosen           Court 1102

Judge Judith Hightower     Court 903

Judge Willie Gregory         Court 1101

Unlike many of the courts we practice in, SMC has its own set of forms, rules and procedures.  Attorney unfamiliar with Seattle Municipal Court often times find it very difficult to practice there.  Cowan Kirk Kattenhorn has represented countless cases in this jurisdiction and are familiar with all of its nuances.
