A 24-year-old woman was recently arrested in Auburn and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and hitting a police officer's patrol car.

The accident occurred on Highway 167 at 3 a.m. A police officer had pulled over a 36-year-old woman for a suspected DUI. After the officer put the woman in the back seat of his patrol car and got into the front seat, the 24-year-old woman, driving a BMW, rear-ended the patrol car.

The police officer suffered minor injuries in the accident and was transported to Auburn General Hospital. Both women were taken to the county jail, and the 24-year-old woman was charged with causing an accident while driving under the influence of alcohol.
