A man was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence and vehicular assault after running a red light and collided with another vehicle causing two people to be sent to the hospital.

According to the police report, the man was driving east on S. Ryan Way when he failed to stop at a red light at an intersection and crashed into a northbound vehicle. Both people riding in the second vehicle were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The scene was closed for hours while police investigated.

Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the injured victims in the accident during their recovery.
