A man suspected of hit-and-run was arrested Wednesday night about a mile from the scene of an accident where a female pedestrian was injured.
Seattle Police say a preliminary investigation determined that the man was traveling north on Rainier Avenue in a Toyota Corolla when he drove up onto the sidewalk at Andover and struck a pedestrian shortly before 7 p.m. Investigators say the driver continued north on Rainier but was apprehended by police near 20th Avenue South and South Jackson Street.
The unidentified pedestrian was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The driver was also taken to Harborview for a blood draw as part of a DUI investigation.
