Report Shows College Drinking Problems

Posted by Unknown | Mar 04, 2014 | 0 Comments

According to an article in July's Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs, alcohol related deaths among college students in the US jumped from 1,440 in 1998 to 1,825 in 2005. These deaths rose in correlation to heavy drinking and drinking and driving in the same group.

The article also showed that the percentage of people age 18 to 24 who admitted to driving drunk in the past year went up from 26.5 to 29 in the same time frame. Many of those led to deaths or DUI charges.

If you or someone you know is facing DUI charges, contact the Seattle DUI attorneys of Cowan, Kirk & Gaston at 866-822-1230.
